According to Egyptian box-office tracking, the action-thriller "7 Dogs" has become the highest-grossing film ever in Egyptian cinemas, without accounting for inflation.
As of 3 August 2026, it had earned EGP 261.8 million (approximately US$5.3 million) from ticket sales in Egypt. It passed the previous record of EGP 258.3 million, set by the 2024 film "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadia."
"7 Dogs" is still in cinemas, so its total will increase.
Released in several countries across the Middle East and North Africa on 27 May 2026, "7 Dogs" stars Egyptian actors Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz. Ezz plays an international police officer who must work with an imprisoned member of the Seven Dogs criminal organization, played by Abdel Aziz. Together, they try to stop the organization from distributing a new illegal drug across the region.
The film was produced by Sela Studios, with backing from Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority.
Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, both of Moroccan heritage, directed the film after previously making the Hollywood studio movie "Bad Boys for Life" and "Bad Boys: Ride or Die."
The cast also includes Italian actor Monica Bellucci and Indian actors Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. It had a reported budget of US$40 million.
