African Film Press — July 6, 2026

FIFDOPO has selected eight projects for the 3rd edition of "La Fabrique du Doc," its pan-African documentary writing residency in Porto-Novo, Benin's administrative capital. The residency is scheduled for 20–28 July 2026, ahead of and during FIFDOPO's 5th edition, which is scheduled for 24–28 July 2026.

The residency is dedicated to feature-length documentary projects in development. FIFDOPO's 2026 call listed eligible applicants from Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

The selected projects are:

"Tiefo" — Korbeogo Barkissa, Burkina Faso

"Tiefo" is a documentary project about the threatened Tiefo language, a minority language in Burkina Faso. A FIDAB-linked post describes Korbeogo Barkissa as a Burkinabe socio-anthropologist and filmmaker developing the project to address the language's disappearance. FESPACO identifies Korbeogo as an anthropology student at Nazi Boni University in Bobo-Dioulasso, a city in western Burkina Faso, and says she has taken part in film training in screenwriting and directing.
