Lagos Joins Cannes 2026 "Goes to Cannes" Program via AFRIFF

Lagos Is Officially Part of "Goes to Cannes" 2026
The Marché du Film — the official film market of the Festival de Cannes — confirmed today that Lagos, Nigeria, is among the partner cities selected for the 2026 edition of "Goes to Cannes," taking place May 15–18, 2026, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) will represent Lagos in the showcase.
The remaining 2026 festival city partners include Adelaide (Australia), Hong Kong, Montevideo (Uruguay), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Tallinn (Estonia), and Tokyo (Japan).
"Goes to Cannes" allows selected festivals to curate and present works-in-progress inside the Marché du Film to distributors, sales agents, and festival programmers. One project across the program will receive a €10,000 minimum guarantee award from Sideral Cinema.
