Togo has been named the guest country of honour for the 30th edition of the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou, or FESPACO, scheduled for 20–27 March 2027, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Burkina Faso’s Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo, announced the selection on 25 September 2026.
According to Ouédraogo, Togo’s designation is meant to strengthen ties between Burkina Faso and Togo, support cultural and professional exchange, and boost the visibility of African cinemas.
The 2027 edition will be held under the theme “African Cinema and Endogenous Development.”
FESPACO, founded in 1969 and held in Burkina Faso’s capital, is one of Africa’s major film and television festivals and presents the Étalon de Yennenga as its principal competition prize.
