TV5MONDE has begun the international rollout of the 60-part Ivorian drama series “Castes, les amours interdites” (“Castes, Forbidden Loves”), now available on its global streaming platform TV5MONDE+. The series will also begin airing on TV5MONDE Afrique on 26 October 2026, with four episodes scheduled every Monday at 9 p.m.
The 60 × 26-minute series is coproduced by NCI (La Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne), a private television network in Côte d’Ivoire, and Orange Côte d’Ivoire, with TV5MONDE participating through a prebuy. Lully Grace Production, the Abidjan-based company led by filmmaker and producer Franck Vléhi, handled executive production.
“Castes, les amours interdites” follows the Koulibaly family, led by patriarch Lamine, who uses arranged marriages and business alliances to protect the family’s interests. His children pursue relationships of their own choosing, while the arrival of a second wife deepens conflicts over loyalty, inheritance and control.
The series is directed by Franck Vléhi and Jean-Jules Porquet and written by Emery Noudjiep. The cast includes Shayana Acquah, Stéphane Aly, Landry Gnamba, Bienvenue Koffi, Beda Pélagie, Issaka Sawadogo and Stéphane Sebime.
The international release follows the series’ launch in Côte d’Ivoire on 19 January 2026, when NCI began broadcasting it locally and Orange made episodes available on its Max-it platform and television service.
