Congolese filmmaker Jean Luc Herbulot’s “ZERO” will begin an African theatrical run on Friday, 14 August 2026, with confirmed screenings in Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Madagascar.
Pathé Touch Afrique, the Paris-based distributor operating across the Maghreb and French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, is handling the release.
The U.S.–Senegal production follows two American men who wake in Dakar with explosive devices attached to their bodies. A mysterious voice communicating by telephone gives them ten hours to complete a series of dangerous assignments across the city. Hus Miller and Cam McHarg play the two men, while Willem Dafoe provides the voice on the telephone.
Confirmed cinemas include Pathé Dakar in Senegal’s capital; Pathé Cap Sud in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire’s commercial capital; Majestic Cinéma Bessengue in Douala, Cameroon’s commercial centre; Majestic Cinéma Yaoundé I University in Cameroon’s capital; and Cinepax Madagascar in Antananarivo.
Herbulot’s widely acclaimed Senegalese action-horror feature “Saloum,” produced by Pamela Diop and their Dakar-based company Lacmé Pictures, premiered in the Midnight Madness program at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada in September 2021.
