SAFTAs19: South Africa's Main Screen Awards Announces 2026 Nominees

South Africa's main screen awards has announced its 2026 nominees.

Among feature films, "The Fix" appears across the widest range of categories, including Best Feature Film, Directing, Editing, Original Score, Visual Effects and Cinematography. "Death of a Whistleblower" is nominated for Best Feature Film and also appears in Directing, Scriptwriting, Acting and Production Design categories. "Old Righteous Blues" and "A Kind of Madness" are nominated for Best Feature Film and feature across acting and writing categories.

Among series, "iThonga" received 10 nominations, the highest total for a single television production this year. "Reyka" Season 2 follows with nine nominations. "White Lies" received eight nominations, and "Youngins" received six.

The headline categories include Feature Film, TV Drama, Telenovela, TV Soap, TV Comedy, and Documentary Feature, covering both cinema and serialized television.

Productions associated with Netflix account for 55 nominations. Productions associated with Showmax account for 59.

The Craft Awards will stream live on 13 March 2026. The Main Awards Ceremony will broadcast on 14 March 2026 from Johannesburg.
