TV5MONDE will launch "Monkam," a Cameroonian series directed by Narcisse Wandji, on TV5MONDE+ on 6 May 2026, followed by broadcast on TV5MONDE Afrique on 11 May 2026. The series consists of 10 episodes, each 26 minutes.
The story follows a pastor whose son is living with severe heart failure. As the child's condition worsens, the father is pulled into the illegal organ trade in an attempt to save him.
TV5MONDE presents the series as a psychological thriller confronting questions of faith, morality, and survival.
The series was produced with TV5MONDE's support, alongside Anka Productions, Djibe Films, the Institut Gabonais de l'Image et du Son, and the Fonds Francophonie TV5MONDE+.
Created by Evodie Ngueyeli and Bouna Guazong, "Monkam" stars Jean Claude Mpaka, alongside Wilson Sobze, Christian Aliguena, Tatiana Matip, Jacquin Touwole, Alain Bomo Bomo, Tatiana Pom, and Patrick Daheu.
Ahead of its rollout, the series is being presented with festival and awards credentials, including the Jury Prize at FESPACO 2025 and three wins at the 7Seven Awards 2025.
